Just a few reminders of some important dates coming up.

We have two more PARENT'S NIGHT OUT dates before the holidays. Saturday, December 7th and 21st. Sign up early to reserve your spot!

Our CHRISTMAS CONCERT is scheduled for Thursday, December the 20th. Check with your teachers for times if you have not received your newsletter.

HOLIDAY CLOSURE: Our last day open before the holiday's will be the 23rd of December. We are closed the 24th but re-open on January 2nd!

Parent's Night

We still have spaces available for our Parent's Night on Saturday, November the 30th!
We will be holding it from 5:30-9:30pm.
Sign up by the office or contact me and I can reserve your spot!

Christmas Concert!

Please come join us for a Christmas Celebration on Friday, December the 20th.

The children will be putting on a little show for everyone and then we will share some delicious treats!

Each classroom will have separate performance times to allow for families that have children in multiple rooms.

We will be providing yummy snacks but for those that love to bake please feel free to sign up if you would like to contribute.

Performance times are as follows:
School Age: 9:15-9:45am
Toddler: 9:30-10:00am
Preschool/Nursery: 10:00-10:30am

We have handed out notices to all of our families as a reminder as well.

Announcements

Hello All,
A few announcements for you today.
A reminder that we are closed for the Christmas Holiday's from December 24th to January 2nd. How has it come around so quickly?
As you all know, Ms Noor, our head teacher in our JK/SK class is expecting! Her last day will be December the 24th as well. We will all miss you and can't wait to meet the new addition to your beautiful family!
Congratulations to Miss Brittany, one of our wonderful Preschool teachers. She has accepted a position with our new Tiny Hoppers location in Kingston. You will be very missed but we wish you all the best in Kingston, we know how much you have missed it! Miss Brittany's last day will the December 24th.
A big welcome to Miss Leah, our new teacher in our Toddler room! We are happy to have you as part of the Tiny Hoppers team!
One final reminder to please send your children with proper outdoor clothing as the days are getting quite chilly too quickly!

Karen's Absence

To all my dear Tiny Hopper Families,
I will be away for a short time due to a couple of simple medical procedures.
My last day here is tomorrow, Thursday the 24th and I am scheduled to return on November the 18th. I'm crossing my fingers for a quick recovery that will get me back here sooner!
Miss Brittany from our pre-school room will be helping in the office for a few hours a day while I'm away and Lori will be here as well, so business will continue as normal.
If you have any concerns or questions while I am away please direct them to one of our amazing head teachers, Miss Ashley, Miss Noor or Miss Mandi. All of our staff here is happy to help with anything you may need.
I'll be looking forward to returning soon and seeing all of the precious, smiling faces here at Tiny Hoppers!

Parents Night-Out!

Our next Parents Night is scheduled for November the 2nd from 5-9pm.
Movies, pizza and popcorn and tons of fun!
$20 for the first child and $15 for each additional child.

Picture Day!

Hello Everyone!

Just a reminder that we have picture day on Wednesday, September the 25th. This is available to all of our Tiny Hoppers Classes.  Proofs will be sent out to all of the families and you can chose if you would like to order and if so how many.

For our children attending Nursery School, if you would like to have your child's picture taken please let us know and we can let you know the details and times to arrive.

How could I forget to mention Miss Aislinn in our Preschool room! Miss Aislinn came to us from our Head Office location in Riverside South and we are more than pleased to have her here with us each day!

Good Morning Tiny Hopper Families!

Thank you all for being so patient for my first update on our blog while I settle in to my new position here at Findlay Creek.

It has been a fantastic few weeks getting to know the teachers as well as all of your lovely children! I have absolutely loved hearing all the funny stories and laughter in each of our classrooms. Sneaking into the toddler room for extra hugs and cuddles is always a bonus too!

There have been some changes here at our centre that I would like to share with you.

We said good bye to our lovely toddler teacher, Miss Erin on Friday. Erin has moved to Carleton Place and will be taking a job much closer to home.

Miss Kelsey has decided to pursue other opportunities as well and we wish them both all the best! They will be missed!

On that same note, we are very happy to welcome Miss Candyce and Miss Cheryl to our toddler room!
Together, Miss Candyce and Miss Cheryl offer over 15 years of experience between them and the children are already enjoying snuggling up with them for a story or singing along side them at circle time.

We also have Miss Annie joining us from 2:30-5:30 each day to assist in our School Age program. Welcome to all our new teachers!

Plenty of new faces and names to get to know but I feel confident that you will agree with me when I say we have a wonderful teaching team here at Tiny Hoppers!

Dear Parents,

I wanted to take a moment to let you know that I am leaving my position at Tiny Hoppers. I will be starting a new position with the Ottawa Carleton District School Board next month.

I have enjoyed my tenure here and I appreciate having had the opportunity to work with you and your children. I will miss everyone dearly, I have enjoyed every moment of working at Tiny Hoppers and I am very sad to go. My last day at Tiny Hoppers will be the 23^rd of August.

The new director will be Karen Joy, Karen has previously owned her own Nursery School “Stepping Stones Nursery School” which was located in Barrhaven. Karen has 20 years’ experience working in the field of Early Childhood Education, she is a Registered ECE and is also trained in the area of special needs with a specialty in Autism. Karen will be training at the Findlay Creek Tiny Hoppers from the 12^th – 19^th of August and will spend an additional week training at our head office location. Karen will begin working full time at Tiny Hoppers the 26^th of August. Karen is looking forward to meeting and working with you and your family.

Grad Pics!

Nursery Graduation Picture Day Wednesday June 5^th

Every year at Tiny Hoppers we have a graduation for our Nursery children as they complete our program in June! So this means we need some graduation pictures! Our photographer Misty Charlebois will be photographing the children on Wednesday June 5^th. Even if your Child does not attend on this day please bring them in so they can have their photo taken.  Currently we have no booked a retake date as we hope to get everyone in on Wednesday. However if a retake date is needed we will arrange for this.

Friday evening (morning for Nursery) is our Make A Wish Night. We will be selling our Make A Wish stars for $2.00! All of the money will go to make a child's wish come true! The children will be selling the stars as you are picking up at the end of the day and the teachers will be helping the children to hang their stars on our wall. Help us to make some wishes come true!!
 

5 day Nursery School!
Hello Parents!
With such a high demand for Nursery school we are thinking of opening the program up to Tuesday and Thursday as well.
The cost would be an additional $80 a month for each additional day.

Hello Parents,
As it is a new year we have made some new changes to our parent hand books,
I sent out an email for you to read with a copy of the parent hand book attached. If you have trouble opening the file please email me and I will try to resend it to you or provide you with a paper copy. Your child's teacher
will provide you with a printed out form to sign after you have read the document, as well as a permission form to allow us to take pictures of your child. If you did not recieve the email, please email me and I will send you a copy tinyhoppers.fc@gmail.com. 
Just one last reminder that if you are sending your child to JK/SK next year and require before and after school care it is crucial to put your name on our registration list as soon as possible, as I have a long waiting
list for the program and I want to be sure that all current Tiny Hoppers members recieve a spot first before I open it to the public.

Attention Parents

If you have a child that will be registered into Junior Kindergarten/Senior Kindergarten/Grade 1 for the September 2013 school year and require before/after school care it is important to reserve a spot now. Our before and after school program for September 2013 is filling up quickly, and it is important to reserve a spot.

The options for the program are;

Before (7-9) and After School (11:00-5:30) $700/month

Before (7:00-11:30) and After School (3:30-5:30) $700/month

Before School (7:00-11:30) $590/month

Afterschool (11:00-5:30) $590/month

Full Day Afterschool Care (3:30-5:30) $375/Month

Our little Hoppers love playing in the snow!
Here are some cute pictures of them in action!

Attention Parents;

Due to the weather and excessive amount of snow our hallway has been quite the splash zone.

We will be installing carpet runners to make the hallway more comfortable for the winter season and as well we will be asking that you remove your shoes upon entering the daycare.

Even with the mats the snow from boots will still cause the floor to be wet, which causes our little hoppers socks to get soaked when they change from their boots to their inside shoes.

I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you, however we have to keep our tiny hoppers feet dry and this seems to be the only solution.

As soon as the mats are installed (tomorrow of Monday) we will be asking that you remove both your shoes and your child’s shoes upon entering the daycare.
