Our Grand Opening Party is quickly approaching. Get ready for a day of fun with the family. There will be all sorts of activities and fun things going on throughout the day. Beginning with our Official Ribbon Cutting at 10:15am with Mayor Jim Watson, Councillor Steve Desroches and MP Lisa MacLeod.
We know the children will absolutely LOVE the work of our Professional Face Painter from The Smile Factory. There will also be a Demonstration Play Class at 11am with one of the fantastic teachers from our Orleans location. We will have a craft table where children can make a special take-home craft and can meet Froggles, our company Mascot. There will be draws for great prizes throughout the day and of course, what is a Grand Opening without CAKE and refreshments?
We will also be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair. We feel very strongly about literacy and one is never too young for a great book. Please stop in and browse the great selection of well known children's books. Books are available for immediate purchase and we are happy to accept cash, cheque, and credit card. This Bookfair will help our centre to acquire new books for each of our classrooms, where your children will learn and grow through literacy. No cash profit will be made from this event.
We will have Registration Packages available that day. If you would like to register, or know someone that would like to register for one of our Programs, please feel free to take a package home that day.
We hope you will pass the word along to friends, family and neighbours so that they, too, can partake in the festivities.

February News
Our Love and Friendship theme has been a lot of fun so far and the fun is far from over.Our litte Hoppers are gearing up for Valentines fun on the 14th where they will be enjoying a special Valentines lunch and making trips to their classroom "Post Office" to mail and pickup mail in their handmade mailboxes. To date, the children have worked hard on, and have taken home some wonderful Valentines related crafts.
Our Upendo campaign is coming to a close at the end of Valentines week (Feb 17th). We thank you for your donations!

Effective Monday, February 13th, our Nursery School will be held in "The Fun Zone" with Miss Tiana, our Head Pre-School and Nursery School Teacher.
We would like to draw attention to our wonderful Teachers who, on a daily basis, bring to their classrooms such warmth, caring and an obvious love of what they do. Our happy little Hoppers are really thriving and, growing so much already. We want parents and children to have a strong sense of security and genuine warmth here at Tiny Hoppers Findlay Creek and we feel that our Team has met our standard! Thank you Team Hoppers!
Winter can bring on colds, flus and other unwanted viruses. We ask that everyone please use the Hand Sanitizer provided at the main gate or sign in table before entering the centre. Please assist your child with this process. We would like to keep the children and staff healthy and virus free.
Please note: We are CLOSED on Family Day (February 20th). We hope everyone enjoys a wonderful day with your families and we will see you back on the 21st.
Our Valentines Parents Night Out has been cancelled due to lack of registrations. We are considering a Toddler Parents Night out and a Pre-School Parents Night out for Members only and would like your feedback as to whether or not this is something you would take advantage of. Please provide your feedback to your child's teacher. If we get enough interest, we will add a second Parents Night Out each month for this Members Only event. Our regular Parents Night Out (open to General Public) is hugely popular. For only $20/child and $10 for each additional child, parents can enjoy a relaxing evening out from 6pm-10pm knowing that their children are in a safe and familiar environment. Children will enjoy organized activities, crafts, parachute games, Pizza Party and an end of evening age appropriate movie.
Playclasses and Birthday parties will be up and running effective March 1st. Please call us at 613-822-2900 if you would like more information or to book your child's party.

One Month Already!
Hello Hopper Families!
We would like to thank all of our Hopper families for a wonderful first month! We have a few small updates that you may wish to take note of.
We now have our phone and fax lines installed. Here are the numbers to add to your contact lists.

We would like to welcome MISS SOPHIE to our staff. Miss Sophie is an ECE and will be working alongside Miss Sarah (our Staff Supervisor and ECE) in the Toddler Program.
Also, welcome to Miss Jennifer ( ECE ) who will be teaching our Playclasses, as well as Nursery School and working with the JK/SK as well. Miss Jennifer will begin working at the centre mid-February.

We would like to draw attention to our Upendo display which you will notice upon entry into the centre. Tiny Hoppers is proud to announce our involvement with helping to build a Nursery School in Kenya. We believe that ALL children deserve the right to an education and what better way to begin than with Nursery School. We are accepting donations of a loonie or twonie which will go directly to the construction of the Upendo Nursery School. Please drop your donation into the collection vase. We thank you all for your kindness and generosity! We provide regular updates on the progress of the Nursery School which you will find posted just inside the door.
We are getting ready to open our centre to our popular Parent/Child Playclasses which will run each Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Keep following the Blog for updates on our start date and schedule.
We will also be hosting Birthday Parties in the very near future. Our Birthday staff is gearing up to provide children with fun and exciting themed parties. Inquire at tinyhoppers.fc@gmail.com or call us at 613-822-2900.

Amendments to: Opening week a HUGE Success!
Hello Tiny Hoppers Families!
A few amendments to our first BLOG posting have been made. Please note the following changes:
1) Effective Monday, January 16th, 2% White MILK will be included with the meal plan. Each child will receive one serving of milk with their lunch.
2) For Parents of Toddlers: Effective Monday, January 16th, BIBS will be provided for your children for mealtime. Also, please note that we will allow parents to walk their toddlers directly to the classroom if this works best for you. Wednesday (today) was fantastic. Each and every toddler SLEPT....well!
3) Change of Date for our first Parents Night Out: it has been changed to Friday , February 10th to allow for Parent's to enjoy that special Valentine's Dinner out.
4) Parents of JK/SK children: Please remember to pack your child an afternoon snack as well as their lunch. Please also provide a reusable water container labeled with your child's name. First day of buses went very well. All children transported to and from school without any problems..

Opening Week a HUGE success!
Hello Hopper Families!
We would like to say how very pleased we are that our opening week went so smoothly. Thank you ALL for your kind words and encouragement during our first and most difficult week!
We are very very proud of each and every one of our little Hoppers as they transitioned so beautifully into their new surroundings. We have a fantastic group of children and we couldn't be more pleased to be a part of each and every one of their little lives.
We would also like to praise our wonderful teachers for their quick and seemingly effortless abilities to transition themselves into the Tiny Hoppers teaching style. We have a GREAT team and we are very proud of our Teachers. With that said, we would like to encourage parents to keep an open line of communication with your child's teachers. The Teachers have been providing daily reports for each child. We ask that, if there is something you feel you must discuss with the teachers, please do so. Every effort will be made to see that parent's concerns are met.
The Lunch Lady will begin catering services on Monday, January 9th. Any children requiring special selections due to dietary restrictions or allergies will be contacted by "The Lunch Lady" to review the upcoming menu. Regular menus will be posted at the front of the facility as you walk in. This board will also have all of our weekly programming posted for your convenience. We do have a set schedule which does not change (ie, circle time, snack, programming, lunch, nap, snack, outdoor play, afternoon music/movement circle). Therefore, if you pick up early, expect that your child may miss snack, or outdoor play.
Busing for JK/SK (to and from Elizabeth Park and St. Thomas Moore) will begin this coming Wednesday, January 11th. Pick up and drop off times will be confirmed by Tuesday. IMPORTANT: if your child will not be on the bus YOU MUST notify us so that we are not looking for a "missing" child. This is HIGHLY important for all parties involved (Tiny Hoppers, the School and the bus driver). The Tiny Hoppers Bus stop is located at the end of the pathway just behind the centre on Hillmans Marsh. A very safe location set by the Transportation line themselves. Children will be walked to and from the bus by their teacher,(ratios apply).
Parents, please note that outdoor play is a mandatory requirement by the Ministry of Child and Youth Services (weather permitting, of course). Therefore, please ensure that your child has the appropriate outdoor attire each day.
We also ask that parents send a water bottle, labeled with your child's name as we do not provide juice or milk for the children. Many parents have inquired about the provision of milk. We may consider a milk program (similar to those within the Elementary Schools) however, this would be a cost over and above monthly fees. Parent feedback in this regard would be appreciated.
Sometime, hopefully sooner than later, we will have a door buzzer installed. Until such time, we will use a door chime to alert the teachers that someone has entered the facility. During the first week, we allowed parents to walk children directly to their classroom however, we ask that you now drop off at the first gate. A teacher will greet you there to bring your child to their classroom.
Also, we would like to remind parents to sign your child in and OUT each day. This is part of Tiny Hoppers procedures and is very important.

Welcome To Tiny Hoppers Findlay Creek
Welcome everyone to Tiny Hoppers in Findlay Creek! Construction is well underway and we are working very hard to make sure that we are open on time! Our first official day of daycare will be held on Tuesday January 3rd! We will be holding an Open House on Thursday December 29th so please stop in to meet us and view the new, beautiful centre! We can't wait to get to know all of our new Hopper Families! Please bring the following items to the open house (All Labelled With Your Child's Name)
- Diapers or Pull Ups
- Box of Baby Wipes
- Complete Change of Clothing in a Ziplock Bag (Pants, Shirt, Underclothing, Socks)
- Pair of Indoor Shoes or Slippers
- Diaper Cream
- Sleep Blanket to be Left on Their Cot
- Any Special Items (Soothers, Sippy Cups Ect...)
